Jesters face Pensacola FC Wednesday night

New Orleans, LA.  The New Orleans Jesters take on Pensacola FC Wednesday night at Pan American Stadium; gates open at 6:00 PM with kickoff set for 7:00 PM ($10, nolajesters.com). Its the Jesters first home match since May 28 and the team has been in outstanding form winning twice with a tie in three straight road games,

 

Head coach Kenny Farrell is looking for a strong performance,

 

“The team performed extremely well on the road the past three games and the results followed. The character they showed was impressive and if they continue to play properly and put in maximum effort then they should expect to get positive results.”

 

The Jesters defeated Florida Roots 2-0 on June 2 behind goals from brothers Lucho Galizzi and Maxi Galizzi.  New Orleans followed up that win with a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Tallahassee SC on June 4 with goals from Maxi Galizzi and Rafael Calderon.

 

Last Saturday night the Jesters came from behind to earn a 2-2 tie versus AFC Mobile.  Maxi Galizzi scored again, recording his team-leading fourth goal of the season.  Midfielder Floris van Nijnanten scored the second with a superb strike from distance.

 

This is the first meeting of the season between New Orleans (3-2-1) and Pensacola (3-3-1). The Gulf Coast rivals enter the match in a tie for third position in the table with ten points each.

 

The New Orleans Jesters play a twelve-game NPSL regular season schedule with all six home matches at Pan American Stadium. The Jesters remain at home Saturday night when they will play Tallahassee SC. Season ticket packages and group tickets are also available at www.nolajesters.com.
