New Orleans Jesters tie Jacksonville Armada 3-3 in season finale
New Orleans, LA. The New Orleans Jesters tied 3-3 with the Jacksonville Armada tonight at Pan American Stadium in the final game of the 2024 NPSL campaign. The Jesters led 3-2 heading into stoppage time but Jacksonville equalized with almost the last kick of the match to earn the draw.
The Jesters opened the scoring in the 10th minute with Tom Preston squaring the ball to Sheldon Green who slotted past Jeremy Coste to make it 1-0.
In the 23rd minute Jesters defender Roberto Rangel cleared the ball off the line after goalkeeper Ludwig Malberg got dragged out of his goal.
A minute later New Orleans doubled its lead as Russell Brown burst through from midfield before drilling the ball past Coste from just inside the box.
The Armada pulled a goal back in the 32nd minute with Miles Shandley headed home from a wide free-kick.
Sebastian Zettel leveled the scores in the 38th minute driving a shot home from outside the box.
Brown scored again in the 65th minute to give the Jesters the lead with a crisp low finish into the left corner.
With time running out Jacksonville threw everything forward looking for a tying goal and deep in stoppage time were rewarded as Alex Ierides equalized to make it 3-3.
