New Orleans, LA. The New Orleans Jesters U-19 fought back to earn a point versus Pensacola FC U-19 Sunday afternoon at Pan-American Stadium. After conceding in the first half Jesters forward Mason Morise hit back with a superb strike from distance to secure a share of the points.
The goal was Morise’s team leading third of the NPSL U-19 pilot season.
Pensacola were the brighter of the two teams in the first half and were rewarded in the 27th minute with a goal. Winger Cole Allen whipped in a cross from the right side and forward Logan Harrelson turned the ball past Jesters goalkeeper Jourdan Schumacher from close range.
New Orleans improved after the break following some half-time adjustments and created a couple of chances before Morise scored the tying goal in the 75th minute.
Morise was involved again in some late drama after he was brought down inside the box in the 85th minute earning New Orleans a penalty.
Defender Zach Zemmels stepped up to the spot but saw his attempt saved by Pensacola goalkeeper Zac Clary.
