Jesters host U.S. Soccer Coach license courses
The New Orleans Jesters teamed up with U.S. Soccer and Louisiana Soccer Association last weekend to host two official U.S. Soccer youth coach license courses at Tad Gormley Stadium in New Orleans. The courses provide vital federation approved training for the participating coaches and help the coaches as they continue their professional development.
“We are absolutely committed to providing the best possible training and coaching for our young players at the New Orleans Jesters and this starts with making sure that our coaches are licensed by U.S. Soccer,” said New Orleans Jesters Executive Director Kenny Farrell.
“In addition to the benefits that the coaches will now pass on to their players and teams we are also very happy to assist with their professional development. We have a great group of young coaches at the Club and this will only strengthen their knowledge and experience.”
Ryan Lazaroe, Director of Coaching Education for Louisiana Soccer Association led the classes which consisted of four hours in the classroom and four hours of practical coach instruction on the pitch. Coach Lazaroe and the coach course candidates were joined by players from the New Orleans Jesters academy to assist with the field sessions.
In addition to the technical instruction the coaches were guided through a segment on creating and maintaining a safe and healthy playing environment prior to the course.
