Jesters’ Playoff Journey Ends in Tight Semi-Final Battle with Jacksonville Armada

JACKSONVILLE, FL – JULY 9TH 2025; New Orleans Jesters 1-2 Jacksonville Armada.

On July 9th, the New Orleans Jesters traveled to Florida to face Jacksonville Armada in the conference semifinals. The Florida rain made the turf wet and slippery, but both teams still put on an exciting match.

In the first half, the Jesters were organized until a mistake at midfield gave Jacksonville a chance. One of their players took a long shot from near the halfway line and scored, putting the Armada up 1–0.

The Jesters answered with focus and energy. They kept pushing and earned a penalty kick. Erick Gunera stepped up and calmly chipped it down the middle to tie the game at 1–1 before halftime.

After the break, both teams created dangerous chances. Goalkeepers and defenders worked hard to keep their teams in it. But another mistake from the Jesters led to a counterattack by Jacksonville, and they took advantage, scoring to make it 2–1.

Despite their efforts, the Jesters couldn’t find the equalizer before the final whistle. The 2–1 loss ended the season for New Orleans, while Jacksonville advanced to the conference final this weekend.

Even though the season ends here, the Jesters are already planning for next year. The goal is to learn from these moments, improve, and come back stronger.
