Jesters Make Playoffs Despite Loss to Armada

NEW ORLEANS, LA – JULY 5TH 2025; New Orleans Jesters 1-3 Jacksonville Armada.
The New Orleans Jesters played their last home game of the regular season this past Saturday, July 5th, at Tad Gormley Stadium. They faced Jacksonville Armada. Even though the Jesters lost 3-1, they had already earned a spot in the playoffs.
The game started tough for the Jesters. Jacksonville Armada was in control for most of the first half, and they scored their first goal with a header. Later in the first half, Armada scored again, now from a free kick, making it 2-0 as the teams went into halftime.
But in the second half, the Jesters came out strong. They pushed hard and kept the ball more than Armada. After a great push, our Captain, Ricardo Gomez, saw that the Jacksonville goalkeeper was too far out, and from the middle of the field, Ricardo kicked the ball perfectly over the goalie and into the net. It was an amazing goal, making the score 2-1.
After Ricardo’s goal, the Jesters got really close to tying the game. They had many chances, but late in the second half, Jacksonville Armada got a penalty kick. They scored, which ended the Jesters’ chances of a tie, making the final score 3-1 for Armada.
Even with the loss, the Jesters are heading to the playoffs. They will play Jacksonville Armada again this Wednesday, July 9th. This time, it’s in Jacksonville, Florida, for the Conference Semi-Finals.
