New Orleans Jesters Academy goalkeeper Jourdan Schumacher signs with Coastal Carolina University

Coastal Carolina is the #5 ranked College Soccer program in the Nation

New Orleans, LA. New Orleans Jesters Academy goalkeeper Jourdan Schumacher has signed a national letter of intent, committing to play for the NCAA D1 Coastal Carolina University Soccer Program.  Schumacher has played for the Jesters Academy for the past seven years and most recently featured as the starting goalkeeper for the U-19 team.

 

New Orleans Jesters Director of Soccer Kenny Farrell is excited to see Jourdan move on to the next stage of his career, “Jourdan has progressed from the recreational program in partnership with Carrollton Boosters, through the Academy, to the NPSL team and now on to top level NCAA D1 soccer.

 

As a result of Jourdan’s commitment, focus and development he has positioned himself to move into one of the top college soccer programs in the country. I’m proud of his achievement and I’d also like to recognize the hard work that his Jesters coaches Jon Largaespada and Igor Siscov and Jose Santos put into his development.”

 

Jordan Schumacher joined the Jesters as a 9 yr old and under the overall guidance of Jesters Director of Coaching Kenny Farrell has enjoyed a superb Academy career that has seen him progress from the U10 level all the way up to the senior NPSL side.

 

Coastal Carolina University head coach Shaun Docking is looking forward to working with his new player,  “We are incredibly excited about Jourdan’s potential. He has already proven that he can play at the elite level with his time with the Jesters senior team under the guidance of a top coach like Kenny Farrell.

Jourdan Schumacher will continue to play for the New Orleans Jesters Academy before beginning his college career in the Fall of 2021.  Schumacher is slated to lead the Jesters U-19’s in the Spring season before joining the full New Orleans Jesters NPSL squad for its summer campaign.

 

Jourdan Schumacher is excited to begin the next phase of his career,  “It’s an incredible opportunity. I’ve always wanted to play Division 1 soccer, so to say that i’ll be playing soccer at Coastal Carolina is very exciting for me. The jump in quality of play from High School and club level to college will help me become a lot stronger and develop well there. It’s a great step for me in my soccer career and would not have been possible without the Jesters.”

 

Coastal Carolina University is a traditional NCAA D1 powerhouse soccer program and finished the 2020 fall season ranked fifth nationally.  Led by 20 yr head coach Shaun Docking the Chanticleers have won 14 regular season championships, 15 conference tournament championships and have made 16 NCAA tournament appearances.
