New Orleans Jesters U-19 Hosts AFC Mobile U-19 

New Orleans, LA. The New Orleans Jesters U-19 takes on AFC Mobile U-19 on Sunday in its second home match of the NPSL U-19 pilot League.  The game kicks off at 4 PM at Pan-American Stadium, there is no charge for entry.  The Jesters enter the match after rallying to earn a 1-1 draw versus Pensacola FC U-19 in a match played last Sunday afternoon.

Jesters U-19 head coach Igor Shiskov is looking to build on last weekend’s strong performance versus Pensacola. 

“I was pleased with the way the group responded after we conceded a goal in the first half,” said Shiskov.  “We made a couple of adjustments at half time and the players worked very hard to create our chances.  Mason’s goal was superb and in the end I thought we were a little unfortunate not to gain all three points. There is still a lot of work to get done and improve our game but I’m enjoying the team’s progress through the season”

New Orleans is still looking for its first win of the season after tying Southern States SC U-19 and Pensacola FC U-19 and dropping a decision versus Port City FC U-19.

Forward Mason Morise leads the team with three goals, one in each of the three previous games including a superb strike on Sunday to earn the Jesters a point versus Pensacola.  Morise is one of the three overage players allowed on the team roster.

New Orleans will be without midfielder Gabriel Helms-Capasso for the game on Sunday.  Helms-Capasso is serving a one game suspension after receiving a red card late in the game vs Pensacola.

AFC Mobile U-19 enters the match looking for its first points of the campaign.  The Mobile, AL based squad has lost its first two matches of the season.

The U-19 pilot league is  managed by the NPSL, and affiliated with the United States Adult Soccer Association (USASA).   

The pilot runs from September through November.  Each team will play a total of eight games, four home and four away. The gameday roster will consist of U-17, U-18, and U-19 players along with up to three overage players.
