Gomez, Baskerville and Green highlight a stellar 2023 Jesters Roster

New Orleans, LA. With the 2023 season fast approaching, the Jesters are bringing in a 22-player roster combining old and new faces alike. Eleven returning Jesters look to repeat last year’s success which saw the squad reach the NPSL Gulf Coast semifinals. The eleven new members look to bring additional firepower to the table. 

The team is led by second-year player and current team captain Ricardo Gomez. Gomez, who is also a current New Orleans Jesters youth academy coach, looks to use his experience playing professionally to elevate the team while being a mentor to the younger talent.

New Orleans head coach Kenny Farrell is looking forward to working with the players, 

“It’s always good to bring a core group of guys back because they understand the expectations.  If they put the work in we have the potential to play some very good soccer this summer and I’m looking forward to getting started.”

The men guarding the goal include returning player and local product Jourdan Schumacher plus Ben Parkinson and Alex Hare. The defensive core includes Nate Aupied, Guy Baskerville, Alexander Blanche, Rafael Calderon, Eddie Choe, Nick Morrow, and Ben Schwing. Baskerville, a UK native, looks to bring his experience from across the pond to New Orleans for his third consecutive Jesters campaign.

Russell Brown, George Chandler. Charlie Curtis, Felipe Fernandes, Ricardo Gomez, Erick Gunera, Aiden Kriek, and Adamandios Toras highlight a midfield group that includes plenty of NPSL and Professional experience.  Gomez will captain the side as he returns for his second season.

Finally, the forward line includes Sheldon Green, Jack Greenwood, Jordan Hulme, and Rolando Sanchez. The Jesters are excited to welcome back Green after his brief stint with Southern States SC last year. Green led the NPSL Gulf Coast in scoring during his previous tenure with the Jesters in 2021. Green has also joined the New Orleans Jesters soccer academy as a youth coach.

The New Orleans Jesters will appear in a ten-match NPSL regular season schedule featuring all five home appearances at Pan American Stadium. Additionally, fans can purchase season ticket packages along with group tickets on the Jesters website and at https://tickets.npsl.com/venues/1087.
