New Orleans, LA. The New Orleans Jesters face Florida Roots FC in the final game of the season on Saturday night at Pan American Stadium (7 PM, nolajesters.com). The Jesters enter the game in fourth position in the NPSL Gulf Coast standings and with a win will guarantee a place in the NPSL postseason.

New Orleans Jesters head coach Kenny Farrell,

“ The players have put forth a tremendous effort over the course of the season and it’s now in their hands to continue and take us into the playoffs.  On Wednesday night they showed what they are capable of in a high pressure situation, the response and the performance were fantastic and I am very proud of them.”

The top four teams in the Gulf Coast Conference advance to the playoffs.  AFC Mobile would qualify ahead of New Orleans if they win their final match of the season vs Tallahassee SC and the Jesters drop points against Florida Roots.  If AFC Mobile does not win versus Tallahassee the Jesters will qualify regardless of the result versus Florida Roots FC.

New Orleans defeated Tallahassee SC 4-1 on Tuesday night behind goals from Soren Yuhaschek, Jowayne Laidley, Jackson Hulme and Sheldon Green. Green’s goal was his team-leading 11th of the season.

Florida Roots enters the game on the back of a 6-2 defeat vs Pensacola FC on Thursday evening.  Trevor Kurtz and Sam Sanchez scored the Roots goals.

In the previous match between New Orleans and Florida Roots this season the Jesters came out on top with a 1-0 win.  Mandeville native Mason Morise tallied the deciding goal.

The NPSL Gulf Coast Conference playoffs begin next week with Jacksonville Armada hosting one of the semifinal matches and either Southern States SC or Pensacola FC hosting the other.

Should the Jesters advance they will face Jacksonville Armada on Wednesday evening in Florida.
