Jesters face Jacksonville test in semifinal playoff match

New Orleans, LA.  The New Orleans Jesters take on the Jacksonville Armada tonight in a NPSL Gulf Coast semifinal match.  The game will be played at Jangro Stadium in Jacksonville with a 6 PM CST kick off and will be broadcast live on


The Jesters qualified for the postseason with a pair of wins last week defeating Tallhassee SC 4-1 on Tuesday then dispatching Florida Roots FC 3-1 on Saturday night.


Head coach Kenny Farrell is looking forward to the Club’s first playoff game since 2018,


“The players were superb last week and when the pressure was really on they showed that they are capable of performing in that environment.  We know that Jacksonville is a very good team but as a group we are looking forward to the match and will be giving it everything we have.”


The Jacksonville Armada enjoyed a superb regular season with 12 wins and 2 losses to finish in first position in the Gulf Coast Conference.


The Armada defeated New Orleans in both regular season games, winning 3-1 at Pan American Stadium on May 29 and 3-2 in the return fixture in Jacksonville on June 30.


Jacksonville finished the regular season on a down note, losing 3-0 last Saturday night versus Southern States SC.


The Jesters finished the season in excellent form scoring seven goals in the final two games.  Offensively the side has been led by the rookie striker Sheldon Green who scored 11 goals in the 14 regular season matches.


Team captain Mason Walsh has also come into form at the end of the season and tallied the second goal on Saturday night in the crucial win versus Florida Roots FC.
