Jesters fall to Jacksonville Armada 3-2

Jacksonville, FL. The New Orleans Jesters lost 3-2 to the Jacksonville Armada in a wild Wednesday night game at Jangro Stadium.

The Armada opened the scoring in the 8th minute just before the game was halted due to a lightning delay.

After a lengthy pause the match resumed and Jacksonville doubled its advantage on the half hour mark.

New Orleans finally pulled a goal back in the 49th minute after defender Guy Baskerville snapped home a header from a Mason Walsh cross.

The Jesters tied it up in the 68th minute with a great finish from forward Sheldon Green who beat the advancing goalkeeper with a deft lob.

Jacksonville retook the lead less than a minute later with a long distance strike to make it 3-2.

With ten minutes remaining the game was stopped for a second time after the power failed at Jangro Stadium leaving the players and officials on the field in darkness.

After a pause the match resumed and it was all Jesters for the final ten minutes as the visitors piled on the pressure looking for an equalizer.

The best of the late chances fell to Sheldon Green in stoppage time but his shot cannoned back off the crossbar and Jacksonville hung on for the victory.

Next up the Jesters head to Pensacola, FL on Friday night for a match versus Pensacola FC (7 PM / mycujoo.tv).
