Jesters kick off season Saturday night vs AFC Mobile

New Orleans, LA.  The New Orleans Jesters kick off their 2021 NPSL campaign on Saturday night vs AFC Mobile.  The game is at Pan American Stadium, City Park; gates open at 6:00 PM with kick off set for 7:00 PM ($10,


This will be the first game New Orleans have played since the end of the 2018 season and head coach Kenny Farrell is looking forward to getting the team back out on the field,


“We cannot wait to get started on Saturday and to get back to playing soccer in front of our fans. The team has been working very hard over the past few weeks in training and they are raring to go to. We know AFC Mobile is a strong side but we will be giving it our all to get a positive result.”


The Jesters will be captained by returning midfielder Mason Walsh who played for the team from 2014 – 2018.  Other returning players include veteran forward Tony Judice, midfielders Adam Toras and Mason Walsh and defender Chase Rushing.


Local goalkeepers Jose Santos and Jourdan Schumacher will lead defensive duties; Schumacher recently graduated from the Jesters Youth Academy where he has played since he was 10 years old.


New additions to the squad include two young English players, Sheldon Green and Jackson Hulme who both arrive for first seasons with the Jesters.


Another defender Soren Yuhaschek will bring some veteran NPSL experience to the squad having played the past five seasons with Chattanooga FC.  Midfielder / striker Jowayne Laidley also comes across from Chattanooga.


AFC Mobile will be looking to bounce back from a 3-0 defeat suffered in their first match of the season played last Saturday night vs Southern States SC. AFC Mobile is led by head coach Steve Wieczorek.
