Jesters Look to Continue Winning Ways Saturday vs. Jacksonville Armada

New Orleans, LA. The New Orleans Jesters are at home Saturday night as they face their NPSL Gulf Coast opponent Jacksonville Armada at Pan American Stadium. Gates open at 6:00 PM with kick-off set for 7:00 PM (Tickets – $10 Adult, $7 Youth).

Last Saturday, the New Orleans Jesters debuted at their home stadium for the first time in 2023 and defeated Florida Roots FC 2-0 in front of an excited home crowd. Forward Rafael Calderon scored the first goal, with Sheldon Green adding the second via a second-half penalty kick. With the result bringing the Jesters back to the win column, team captain Ricardo Gomez had this to say about the win.

“I think with this being our second week together; we came out sharper in the first half. As a group, being together for two and a half weeks, the pieces are beginning to come together.”

The Jesters look to this Saturday’s contest with aspirations to build and improve on last weekend’s win. Jacksonville Armada will pose a strong challenge for New Orleans. The Jesters lost twice to Jacksonville last year, 3-1 and 2-1, respectively. Jacksonville has two wins and two draws in league play thus far, which has resulted in a #1 standing for their club. 

Gomez had this to say about this weekend “We want to bring all the positives into this game. It’s important to put together a complete 90 minutes; I feel like we have only been able to put a half together this season. Against a good team like Jacksonville, that will be important.”

The Jesters are in the top half of NPSL Gulf Coast Conference Standings with a hold on 3rd place. The team looks to climb even higher this Saturday Night. 

The match will be this Saturday, May 27, at Pan American Stadium in City Park and the second home game of the season. Gates open at 6:00 PM, with kick-off set for 7:00 PM.
