Jesters play Pensacola with playoff berth on the line

New Orleans, LA.  The New Orleans Jesters take on Pensacola FC Saturday night at Pan American Stadium needing a win or a tie to advance to the NPSL’s Gulf Coast Conference playoffs.  The Jesters enter the weekend in 4th position in the conference standings one point ahead of 5th placed Pensacola; the top four teams advance.

New Orleans Jesters head coach Kenny Farrell is looking forward to the challenge,

“The players have put themselves into a strong position with one game remaining and know that if they can get the result Saturday we will move on.  Their effort and focus has been superb this week in training and I am looking forward to what should be a very good game Saturday night.”

The Jesters tied Pensacola 1-1 in the previous meeting between the clubs this year in a game played at Shoreline Stadium back on June 14; Ricardo Gomez scored the lone New Orleans goal.

The Jesters enter Saturday’s game on the heels of consecutive losses after a six match unbeaten streak that stretched back to May 20.

Pensacola won its last match with a 2-0 home victory over Tallahassee SC behind goals from Tom Preston and Kainan Dos Santos.

Gates open at 6 PM on Saturday night with kick off set for 7 PM; tickets are available starting at just $10 (nolajesters.com).
