New Orleans, LA. The New Orleans Jesters will hold tryouts for its NPSL U-19 and U-16 teams on Saturday, May 28 at Pan American Stadium, City Park from 8 AM – 10 AM. The teams will play in the NPSL U-19 and U-16 competitions starting in August. The New Orleans Jesters U-19’s won the recent NPSL Gulf Coast Spring championship with a thrilling 4-2 come from behind victory over Tallahassee, SC.
New Orleans Jesters Director of Soccer Kenny Farrell is looking forward to continuing the success of the development program,
“The U-19’s and U16’s are all about providing opportunities for local talent to prove themselves on a big stage and hopefully show that they have what it takes to move on.”
“The U-16’s team is critical to the success of the program, it allows us to identify the best local players and give them the opportunity to push hard for a spot on the U-19 squad and eventually the full senior team”.
Following the Spring championship several players were promoted to the Jesters senior NPSL squad including, Aiden Kriek, Russell Brown and Jesus Rivera.
The NPSL U-19 and U-16 program is managed by the National Premier Soccer League, affiliated with the United States Adult Soccer Association (USASA).
There is no cost to attend the trial but all players must register in advance. More information, including a full match schedule will be released on NPSL.com in the coming weeks.
