New Orleans Jesters 0-3 Southern States SC

New Orleans, LA. The New Orleans Jesters lost 0-3 to Southern States SC tonight at Pan American Stadium. SSSC scored three unanswered goals in the first half to hand the Jesters their second defeat of the season.

 

Despite the loss New Orleans remains in third position in the Gulf Coast Conference with the two games remaining in the season.

 

SSSC opened the scoring in the 7th minute with a headed finish by Carlos Hernando.

 

In the 21st minute Rolando Sanchez drove a shot in from 20 yards but it was saved comfortably by Grant Adam.

 

SSSC doubled their lead in the 28th minute through Harry Gardner and added a third just before half time from the penalty-spot.

 

Rafael Calderon had a chance to pull one back in the 53rd minute but his curling attempt missed wide and high.

 

Sheldon Green pulled a shot wide from a tight angle in the 61st minute after rounding the last defender.

 

New Orleans continued to apply pressure as time ran out but were unable to break through the SSSC defense.

 

The Jesters are in Jacksonville Wednesday night for a game versus the Armada before returning home for the regular season finale on July 8 versus
