New Orleans Jesters lose 4-2 to Pensacola FC
Pensacola, FL. The New Orleans Jesters lost 4-2 to Pensacola FC Friday night at Ashton Brosnaham Stadium.
Pensacola took the lead in 32nd minute after an errant touch by a Jesters midfielder landed at the feet of Pensacola forward Jabari Hylton who buried the chance.
The Jesters pulled level in the 48th minute after substitute winger Jowayne Laidley picked out forward Sheldon Green at the back post who headed home.
Pensacola retook the lead on the hour mark then added a third goal in the 72nd minute with a quick counter-attack that was finished at the back post.
Green and Laidley combined again as the Jesters made it 3-2 in the 76th minute. Laidley slipped Green in behind and the young forward completed the move with a disguised finish.
Pensacola put the game beyond doubt in the 83rd minute with a fourth goal after Hylton beat the offside trap and finished neatly from the edge of the box.
The Jesters return home next week for a pair of games to close out the regular season. Tuesday night New Orleans plays Tallahassee SC and then on Saturday the Jesters take on Florida Roots.
Both games will be played at Pan Am Stadium with kick off set for 7 PM ($10, nolajesters.com).
