New Orleans Jesters to play in Spring NPSL U-19 pilot
New Orleans, LA. The New Orleans Jesters will play in the 2021 NPSL U-19 pilot following a successful inaugural season played in the Fall of 2020. The Spring schedule and conference alignment will be announced in the coming weeks.
Under the direction of New Orleans Jesters Director of Soccer Kenny Farrell the U-19 technical staff will be led by head coach Igor Siscov, assistant coach Adam Toras and goalkeeper / assistant coach Jose Santos.
“It’s tremendous to have the NPSL invest in something that has so much potential, and that’s directed at local players to help them progress through to their senior teams”, said New Orleans Jesters Director of Soccer Kenny Farrell.
“This U-19 pilot shows the NPSL’s commitment to player opportunity by providing a new platform that will allow the best players to develop and move on to top college programs and professional leagues.”
New Orleans Jesters U-19 goalkeeper Jourdan Schumacher recently announced that he has signed a national letter of intent, committing to play for the NCAA D1 Coastal Carolina University Soccer Program and will also advance to the Jesters NPSL Senior team. After playing his youth career with the Jesters Academy, Schumacher used the U-19 pilot league as a part of his development as he continued his progress.
The U-19 pilot features a competitive game schedule with each team playing a home and away series versus the other pilot teams. The participating teams from the inaugural season were AFC Mobile, New Orleans Jesters, Southern States Soccer, Pensacola FC, and Port City FC.
Player trials for the upcoming season will be announced in the coming weeks.
