Poplarville, MS. The New Orleans Jesters U-19 were defeated 4-2 by Port City FC U-19 Sunday afternoon at Pearl River Community College in Poplarville, MS. After conceding four unanswered goals in the first hour the Jesters fought back but the late rally fell short as Port City held on for the victory.

New Orleans fell behind almost immediately from the opening whistle but were a little unfortunate in the circumstances.  The ball was crossed in from the right side and took an awkward deflection off a Jesters defender and past goalkeeper Jourdan Schumacher to give the hosts the lead.

Port City doubled their advantage in the 31st minute then added a third in the 54th minute and a fourth at the hour mark seemingly putting the game beyond the reach

New Orleans pulled a goal back two minutes later with a strike from distance from forward Mason Morise.

The Jesters added a second goal on the 67 minute mark as midfielder Russell Brown placed a side-footed volley inside the far post.

The two goals energized New Orleans and they pushed forward looking for a third but Port City held the visitors off as time ran down and the match finished 4-2 in favor of the home side.

Up next for the Jesters U-19 is a home game next Saturday night versus Pensacola FC U-19.
