New Orleans Jesters U-19 takes on Port City FC U-19

New Orleans, LA. The New Orleans Jesters U-19 takes on Port City FC U-19 on Sunday in the NPSL U-19 pilot League.  The game kicks off at 4 PM at Pan-American Stadium, there is no charge for entry.  The Jesters enter the match after earning a 7-1 win versus AFC Mobile U-19 in a match played last Sunday afternoon.

Jesters U-19 head coach Igor Siskov is looking to build on last weekend’s win.

I want to thank my boys for working hard and keeping the rhythm of the game high . They  responded very well after the game vs  Pensacola last Sunday and it turned out into a great result and much needed win,” said Siskov.  “We anticipate a very difficult game on Sunday against one of the strongest teams in the competition and the players will have to be prepared to fight and work hard to get a result.”

The win versus Mobile was New Orleans’ first of the season and could not have come at a better time for the Jesters with the visit of a strong Port City side on Sunday.

Port City FC enters the match unbeaten and also defeated New Orleans in a game played earlier in the season.

Forward Mason Morise continues to lead the Jesters with four goals, one in each of the four previous games. Morise is one of the three overage players allowed on the team roster.

New Orleans midfielder Gabriel Helms-Capasso will be available for selection on Sunday after serving a one game suspension last weekend after receiving a red card late in the game vs Pensacola.

The U-19 pilot league is  managed by the NPSL, and affiliated with the United States Adult Soccer Association (USASA).

The pilot runs from September through November.  Each team will play a total of eight games, four home and four away. The gameday roster will consist of U-17, U-18, and U-19 players along with up to three overage players.
